celebrated "Make A Difference Day" for their service learning project
on Friday, October 30 by holding a DEAR day (Drop Everything and
Read). Students collected funds for the American Forests organization in
support of local author, DyAnne DiSalvo's charity project. (Pictures of

Franklin Township Library Director, Denise Saia and Administrative Assistant Linda McBride visited Delsea High School on Wed, November 26 to speak to the 9th graders. Ms Saia and Mrs. McBride shared examples of children's stories with the students to help the students in their preparation for writing children's books. PreSchool Story Hour
Students who collected the most donations in their individual class were given the opportunity to read to local preschool children from Franklin Township Elementary School during a Rock-n-Read event on Friday, December 12. The students read stories, shared refreshments, coloring pages and reading activities with the preschool class. Santa also visited with the students. NEED NEW PHOTOS

In
addition, local children's author, DyAnne DiSalvo agreed to donate her
time to speak to the 9th graders on December 1
giving them writing tips for the children's books
that they will be writing for their Read Across America Day project in exchange for
students' donation to the American Forest Organization The 9th graders will be writing, illustrating, and publishing
children's books that they will share with local elementary students for a Read Across
America Day celebration.

Circulation Contest
Students received a chance to win a jar of candy corn every time they checked out a library book. A random winner was chosen from the entries. Photo of this year's winner.
