Christopher Hegeman (1985)
I've been married to my wife Juliet for the past 11 yrs. We have 2 kids: Mark-10, & Jessica-4. I cuurently live in Honolulu,HI. I'm stationed aboard the USS CHOSIN(CG-65).
While stationed on my 1st 2 ships I worked in Auxilliaries Division maintaining hotel services: steam, water, air compressores and air cond/refrigeration. Plus we owned 4 1000 kilowatt diesel generators for electricity. Later on I was stationed in the Philippines working on harbor tugs as a chief engineer where we had 1 2300 horsepower diesel and 3 other ones for generators and fire pumps. then in '96 I went to work for an admiral maintaining his personal 40' barge and meeting all kinds of high ranking officials from around the world! Now I'm back on a guided missle cruiser doing the same thing with the auxilliaries.
I entered the Navy in NOV '85. After boot camp I attended The Navy's diesel mechanic school and then reported to my 1st ship. In the past few years I've attended various schools for things ranging from firefighting to hydraulics to air conditioning/refrigeration.
Stay in school, learn all you can. Remember learning doesn't stop when you receive that diploma: It continues beyond the walls of school. Good Luck.
