Program Description:

Foundations of Marketing is a full year course for students in grades 10-12 to learn and apply marketing concepts necessary in today’s economy. The course is designed as a introduction to all phases of marketing and includes coverage of economics, marketing, safety, ethics, human relations, marketing math, communication, customer service and career exploration. Students are offered the opportunity to participate in DECA activities.

Purpose:
To give students a basic understanding of the marketing concepts. To expose students to all phases of marketing and prepare them with the necessary foundation to take subsequent classes in the Marketing program.

Goals:
• Students will understand fundamental business, management and entrepreneurial concepts that affect busines decision making.
• Students will understand concepts, stategies, and systems needed to interact effectively with others.
• Students will understand the economic principles and concepts fundamental to marketing.
• Students will understand concepts and strategies needed for career exploration, development and growth.
