Program Description: The third year of the Spanish program is a five credit elective course for students in grade 11 and 12. The course is proficiency based and is designed to expand and braoden the students' communication skills, further explore Spanish customs, and experience aspects of Spanish culture. Major units of study include culture, listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students are also exposed to related careers and a variety of resourses and technologies. Satisfactory completion of Spanish II is required for entry into Spanish III, which is the third level in a three year sequential program. Program Purpose: The program purpose is to enable the student to communicate at an advanced level in the target language. The program will develop an interdisciplinary understanding of historica and current events, art, and literary themes. The program will provide opportunities for integration and transference of acquired skills and knowledge. |
