Delsea Regional High School Environmental Club

Club Purpose:

To develop a greater awareness of ecological relationships
To foster a sense of Environmental Stewardship in young people
To create a bridge between Delsea Regional High School students and the community of Gloucester County through environmental stewardship projects and Habitat Building Workshops

Club Projects:

Recycling: Coordinate and facilitate a recycling program in the high school
Adopt-a-Highway: Continuation of highway trash pick-up along Fries Mill Road in Franklinville, NJ
Habitat Butterfly Garden: Planting of a 25,000 sq ft courtyard habitat garden in conjunction with Gloucester County community members and Triple Oaks Nursery

Club Trips and Special Activities:

Volunteer Day (Fall 2001): Trash clean-up of Scotland Run Park
Field Trip to Camden (Spring 2002): Trip to state Aquarium
Recycle Your Junk (October 10, 2002): Giant yard sale to raise money for the club and the keep junk out of land fills
Earth Day (April 30, 2003): Dress down for teachers and tee-shirts for students
Field Trip to Longwood Gardens (Spring 2003): Trip to see some beautiful gardens
